Fazendo Listras com Esmaltes Transparentes

Boa tarde! Esses dias fiz um experimento com os esmaltes transparentes da Colorama (que já usei para fazer sanduíche de glitter aqui) que deu super certo! 
Então para as desconfiadas com esmaltes jelly ou transparentes, aqui vai outra forma de usá-los.
Good afternoon! Last week I did some experimenting with the new Colorama jelly polishes (from the Brazilian line) and it worked out nicely. In Brazil we tend to hate transparent polishes, and many people frowned upon the launch of this collection that's made up entirely of jelly polishes. So I'm trying to come up with different ways that they can be used.

No vídeo eu vou falar um pouco dos tipos de canudos que podem ser usados para usar essa técnica, assim como comparar os efeitos de segurar o canudo perto e longe das unhas.

Semana mostrei pra vocês o Argay sobre outro esmalte e aplicado com a técnica da água. 
Hoje ele aparece de novo, mas dessa vez testei ele para carimbar.
Last week I showed this wonderful purple polish called Argay over another polish and applied with the water technique.
Today Argay makes another appearance, but this time I tried stamping with it.

Hoje tem outro roxão aqui no blog... Esse teve que furar a fila depois da descoberta que rolou ontem. 
Tiane postou uma foto no Flickr que deixou todas babando. A razão de tanta baba é que ela usou um dos holos da Kelly como top coat, mas de um jeito super diferente e que deixou a holografia mais escandalosa ainda.

Yesterday a few friends of mine tried out a new technique of applying holographic polishes as top coat, and left everyone drooling over the effect.

Nars Purple Rain

Quando eu estava no Brasil consegui usar um esmalte lindo da Nars que minha irmã tem. Vocês já devem saber que amo esmalte roxo, mas fazia tempo que não usava um roxão escuro assim.
While I was in Brazil I got the chance to wear a Nars polish that my sister owns.
You might know by now that I love purple polishes, and it'd been a while since I wore a dark vampy purple like this one.

Blueberries Nail Art + Acetona Ruim!

As unhas de hoje têm um tema que eu nunca faria por vontade própria: frutas! No mês passado eu e um grupo de amigas decidimos fazer nail art de frutas pra ver no que dava.
Eu estava no Brasil e com pouquíssimos esmaltes em mãos. Pensei em fazer várias coisas como o gradiente que vemos na casca da manga, ou até alguma coisa com carambola... mas não tinha UM esmalte amarelo ou laranja comigo.
Acabei optando por uma fruta bem típica aqui dos EUA, que é o Blueberry (ou como descobri, Mirtilo aí no Brasil).
Today's nails bring a theme that I would never pick on my own: fruit. Last month me and group of friends decided to do random fruit nail art and see what came out of it.
I was in Brazil at the time, and I had very few polishes with me. I thought about doing a gradient like we see on mangos or even something with starfruit, but I didn't have a single orange or yellow nail polish with me.
In the end, I opted for a fruit that is hard to find in Brazil, but very common here in the US: Blueberries.

Eu sei que eu tinha prometido fazer tutoriais no mês de Agosto, mas acabei indo ao Brasil de surpresa e só voltei semana passada. Já estou filmando alguns tutorais, e no fim do mês devo ter tudo organizado pra mostrar aqui. Se tiver algum tutorial que vocês queiram que eu faça, por favor digam nos comentários, e eu farei com prazer.
I know I had promised a few tutorials for the month of August, but I ended up going to Brazil unexpectedly and only returned last week. I'm already filming a few tutorials and hopefully by the end of the mont I'll have them up. If there's anything you'd like me to show, please let me know and I'll gladly do it.

Na minha visita ao Brasil, tive a oportunidade de comprar alguns esmaltes feitos pela minha amiga Kelly do blog Esmaltes da Kelly. Ela anda fazendo umas misturinhas de glitter e uns holos de fazer cair o queixo!
Me dá um orgulho enorme ver que temos mulheres muitíssimo talentosas no Brasil, e que o trem dos esmaltes artesanais finalmente chegou ao Brasil! Minha recomendação? Se joguem neles!

During my visit to Brazil, I had the opportunity of purchasing a few polishes created by my friend Kelly from the blog Esmaltes da Kelly. She's been creating some glitter based polishes and some holo polishes that are jaw dropping!
I am immensely proud to have fellow Brazilians creating such beauties, and I'm super excited that the indie bandwagon has finally arrived in Brazil.

Polish Days: Geometry

Depois de dias maravilhosos no Brasil, doeu o coração ter que deixar minha família. Mas já estou de volta aos EUA, e hoje tenho pra vocês mais uma colaboração de várias blogueiras do mundo todo. 
O Polish Days de hoje tem como tema a volta às aulas (que nos EUA e Europa acontece no fim de Agosto ou começo de Setembro), especificamente a aula de Geometria, que eu odiava por sinal.
After a few wonderful weeks with my family in Brazil, it was extremely hard to say goodbye and come back home to the USA. But I'm home, and I came back full of Brazilian polishes!

The Amazing Spiderman Nails!

Já vi várias nail arts de Spiderman por aí... aliás, já vi de vários "super-heróis", mas sou muito chata pra nail art de figurinha ou com rosto, e raramente gosto de alguma coisa do gênero.
Nunca pensei que iria fazer uma nail art de Homem-Aranha, mas meu filho de 1 ano e 11 meses é louco apaixonado pelo "pai-da-mén" e acabei fazendo pra ver a reação dele.
I've seen many Spiderman manis out there... with the recent boom of Marvel themed movies, we've seen many super-hero manis. I have a "thing" with faces or characters in nail art... I really don't like it, especially on me.
I never thought I would do a Spidey nail art on myself, but my 1 year 11 months son adores his Spidey, so I succumbed just to see the look on his face.

Bom dia gente! Ainda tenho mais uma semana no Brasil, e estou curtindo muito minhas férias na beira do mar e da piscina.
Semana passada tive o prazer de conhecer pessoalmente algumas meninas daqui de Recife que só conhecia virtualmente. Fizemos um encontrinho lá na Blends Café no Shopping Recife, onde tomei um café maravilhoso e batemos muito papo sobre esmaltes.

Não aguentei nem um dia, e já usei essa bomba de glitter que ela criou justamente com as minhas cores favoritas.
Good morning! I'm still on vacation in Brazil, and enjoying my last week by the beach and the pool...
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting a few fellow polish enthusiasts from Recife (my hometown in Brazil). We had a great time enjoying coffee and talking nail polish, and I left with a beautiful glitter bomb polish created by Samuely Priscila from the blog Oh My!, which happens to be in my favorite colors.

Black Roses on Fire (Max Factor Fantasy Fire)

Quando cheguei no Brasil de férias, dei de cara com uns esmaltinhos da Max Factor que minha prima trouxe de Londres pra mim, entre eles (CLARO!) estava o Fantasy Fire.
When I arrived in Brazil a couple of weeks ago, I was greeted by some Max Factor polishes that my cousin brought from London. Among them was Fantasy Fire, a major lemming of mine!

Bom, fazia tempo que não fazia um gradiente com esmaltes de acabamentos diferentes. Para o gradiente preto e azul de hoje, usei os esmaltes Konad Black e o Swimsuit...Nailed It! da OPI.
It's been a while since I did gradiente nails using polishes with different finishes. For today's black and blue gradient, I used Konad Black and OPI Swimsuit... Nailed It! Let's check it out.

Polish Days: Unhas Olímpicas!

Boa tarde gente! Hoje tem um post bem fora do meu horário porque chegou mais um dia de  Polish Days! Polish Days acontece uma vez por mês, e é um dia onde um grupo de blogueiras posta na mesma hora e no mesmo tema.
O tema de hoje são as Olimpíadas, coisa que eu adorei, porque já estava mesmo querendo fazer uma nail art nesse tema, mas faltava coragem. Depois do Desafio das 31 Unhas fiquei com preguiça hehehe!

Good Aftrenoon! Today's post is very off my regular schedule, but it's a special one because it's finally time for another Polish Days post! If you don't know, Polish Days happens once a month and it's a day when a group of bloggers post at the same time and on the same theme.
Today's theme is the Olympics, which I loved because I've been wanting to try an Olympic nail art, but with the 31 Day Challenge I was very tired.
Let's see what I came up with!

Esmaltes da American Apparel: Crescent Heights e The Valley

Depois que o desafio acabou passei 3 dias sem pintar as unhas, só hidratando bastante as mãos. Minhas cutículas e pele ao redor das unhas estão extremamente secas e esquisitas. Acho que o nervoso de rever minha família deve estar afetando minha pele também...
After the challenge was over, I spent 3 days without any nail polish on. My skin and cuticles haven't been this dry in a long time, but I'm pretty sure my upcoming trip is making me a little too excited and a bit nervous, and that this is affecting my skin.


Resolvi passar dois esmaltes cremosos que acabei de comprar semana passada. Finalmente realizei o desejo de ter uns vidrinhos de American Apparel!
I decided to use two good ol' crémes, and ended up wearing 2 very recent additions to my stash. I've finally got my hands on some American Apparel polishes!
