ManGlaze Gradient Nails (31 Day Challenge: Day 10)

Que as unhas em gradiente viraram febre, todo mundo já sabe né? Eu amo esse efeito desde sempre, e agora que a técnica se aprimorou e muito, estou amando mais ainda!
Gosto de testar esmaltes diferentes para minhas unhas gradientes, e dessa vez peguei dois esmaltes ManGlaze recém chegados (postei foto no Instagram no dia que chegaram!) e mandei ver!
It's no breaking news that gradient nails are all the rage right now. I've loved this style for ever, and now that we were able to perfect the technique, I'm in love with it even more!
I'm into trying different and unexpected polishes for my gradients, and this time I got two recently acquired ManGlaze polishes (I posted a picture on Instagram the day they arrived) and sponged away!

Dia 10: Unhas Gradiente

• Comecei com uma camada do esmalte turquesa Ilf da ManGlaze, e esperei secar bem já que não podia colocar top coat.
• Usando uma superfície de plástico e um pedaço de esponja para maquiagem, eu passei os dois esmaltes (Ilf da ManGlaze e Lesbihonest da ManGlaze) no plástico, peguei com a esponja e esfreguei pra cima e pra baixo nas unhas para as cores se misturarem.
• Repeti esse processo 3 vezes até que as cores ficaram bem visíveis e o gradiente também.
• Para limpar, apenas usei o pincel chanfrado mergulhado na acetona, já que não pude usar o top coat para ajudar a retirar o excesso e a melequeirinha que fica.

Day 10: Gradient Nails

• I started with one coat of ManGlaze Ilf and waited for it to dry.
• Using a plastic surface and a piece of make up wedge, I put both polishes (ManGlaze Ilf and ManGlaze Lesbihonest) on the plastic surface and picked them up with the wedge. I then aplied the wedge to my nails and did an up and down motion to mix the polishes.
• I repeated this process about 3 times until the colors were strong and the gradient was smooth.
• I used my clean-up brush dipped in acetone to clean the small mess sponging makes. 

Apesar de hoje ser o dia das unhas gradiente, essa já é a terceira vez no desafio que faço gradient nails! E provavelmente não vai ser a última vez heheheh.

Rainbow Splatter (31 Day Challenge: Day 9)

Até agora esse foi o tópico mais difícil de escolher o que fazer... Tive milhões de idéias, mas queria fazer algo que fugisse das listras ou arco-íris ao pé da letra. Já deu pra perceber que quando fico em dúvida apelo pro splatter né? 
Essa técnica é definitivamente minha favorita para nail art, e eu toda vez fico achando que não faço ela o suficiente.
Up till now, this was challenge I had the most trouble deciding on what to do. I had millions of ideas, but I wanted to do something a little more original than stripes or even straight up rainbow drawings. Well, you probably noticed that when I can't decide, I end up doing a splatter. I love this technique, and I always think I don't use it enough.


Hoje vamos ter a participação de todos os meus 10 dedos, por que resolvi fazer uma progressão de cores correndo de uma mão para a outra.
Today you get to see all my 10 fingers at once. I decided to do a progression of colors throughout all the fingers.

Dia 9: Unhas Arco-Íris

• Usei uma camada do meu preto favorito, o Black Créme da Wet'n'wild.
• Usando canudinhos de cotonete (meus favoritos para fazer splatter nails), usei 16 esmaltes para fazer o respingado:

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

• I started with one coat of my favorite black polish Wet'n;wild Black Créme.
• Using Q-tip straws (the only type of straw I like to use for splatter nails), I used 16 different colors to do the splatter. Here's a rundown of what I used:

1. Color Club - Pucci-licious
2. Guga - Violeta
3. Revlon (Nail Art French Mix) - Sweet Revenge (pink side/lado rosa)
4. Essie - Super Bossa Nova
5. Sephora by OPI - The Way Tutu His Heart
6. MAC - Obey Me
7. Sephora by OPI - Yes, Your Lioness
8. Essie - Braziliant
9. Sally Hansen (Insta Dry) - Lightening
10. Illamasqua - Radium
11. Essie - Mojito Madness
12. Sinful Colors - Rise and Shine
13. Sinful Colors - Open Seas
14. Sephora by OPI - Havana Dreams
15. Orly - Royal Navy
16. Impala - Polaina Fun

• Respinguei todas as unhas com preto e terminei com uma camada de Seche Vite.
• I splattered all nails with some black and finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

Como eu ainda não estou com a minha coleção completa aqui na Flórida (o navio deve chegar esse mês!), senti falta dos meus laranjas e vermelhos. A mão esquerda ficou bem mais variada e com os tons diferentes de azul, verde e roxo. Fiquei sentindo que tive que repetir muita cor na mão direita, por que não tinha muitas opções e não queria gastar dinheiro com cores que eu já tenho, mas que não estão comigo. 

Uma coisa que eu notei foi que desses vários esmaltes que eu usei, muitos eram muito ralinhos para o spaltter. Eu gosto do splatter com os respingos BEM definidos, e esse não ficou assim. Só gostei do resultado final porque usei bastante preto.

I still don't have all f my nail polish collection with me here in Florida (the container should get here sometime in the next 2 weeks!), and I would have loved to have all my oranges and red here with me. I though the left hand ended up more varied with all the different tones of blue, green and purple, while on the right hand I had to repeat a lot of the colors.

In the end, I like how this turned out, mostly because I used lots of black!

Gradiente Metálico (31 Day Challenge: Day 8)

Chegou o dia do desafio mais sem graça pra mim! Não curto esmalte metálico e para ser sincera, não tenho muitos. Os que eu tenho aqui comigo não estavam me deixando muito feliz... até fiz outra unha BEM metálica, mas acabei odiando e tirei tudo.
This is the day of the least interesting challenge, at least for me. I'm not very attracted to metallic nail polish, and to be honest, I don't even own many of them. the ones I have with me at the moment weren't cutting it... I even did a really geometric pattern, but ended up hating it so much I just had to remove and start again.


Só para eu não ficar morgadinha, resolvi roubar só um pouquinho e usar esmaltes com um acabamento de glitter metalizado. 
To give me some encouragement to actually do this mani, I decided to cheat just a little bit, and use polishes that have some texture in them but can still be considered metallic (at least by some people).

Dia 8: Unhas Metalizadas

• Usei 2 camadas do Graphite da Chanel.
• Esponjei o Silver Dazzle da MiIani do meio das unhas para cima.
• Esponjei o Graphite da Chanel bem suavemente por cima.
• Terminei com 2 camadas de top coat, uma de Seche Vite e uma do Essie Good to Go (porque o Silver Dazzle é glitter forte e ficou muito texturizado nas pontas).

Day 8: Metallic Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Chanel Graphite.
• Then I sponged Milani Silver Dazzle  on the top half of my nails.
• I sponged Chanel Graphite very lightly all over.
• I finished with 1 coat of Seche Vite and one coat of Essie Good to Go because Silver Dazzle dries pretty rough.

Skittles Preto e Branco (31 Day Challenge: Day 7)

Semana passada eu postei minhas unhas "ensaio" para esse desafio. O treino deu resultado, e consegui fazer 5 designs diferentes que amei!
Last week I showed you my "practice" nails for this challenge. All the practicing paid off, and I was able to make 5 separate designs that I loved!

Dia 7: Unhas Preto e Branco

• Comecei com duas camadas do branco da Wet'n'wild no anelar, média e polegar; e uma camada de preto da Wet'nwild no mindinho e indicador.
• Usando um boleador largo, fiz as flores pretas no polegar e depois coloquei o centro branco.
• Usando um boleador pequeno, fiz as bolinhas brancas no indicador, e as flores no mindinho.
• Usei um pincel fininho para fazer o desenho do anelar à mão livre.
• Usei duas camdas do Connect the Dots da Lynderella em cima do branco no dedo médio.
• Terminei com uma camada do top coat da Essie.

Day 7: Black and White Nails

• I started with two coats of Wet'n'wild White Créme on my thumb, middle and ring fingers; and one coat of Wet'n'wild Black Créme on my index and pinkie fingers.
• Using a large dotting tool, I drew the black flower on my thumb and added the white center.
• Using a small dotting tool, I did the white polka dots on my index finger, and the small flowers on my pinkie.
• I used a thin brush to freehand the pattern on my ring finger.
• I used 2 coats of Lynderella Connect the Dots over white on my middle finger.
• I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Gostei muito mais dessa combinação de estilos, que ficou mais feminina, do que da outra que mostrei semana passada.

Purple-licious Fishtail Nails (31 Day Challenge: Day 6)

Depois de azul, minha paixão são os tons de roxo. Amo roxo por que existe uma variedade tão enorme de tons... do mais avermelhado ao mais azulado, não tem como não se divertir com essa cor!
My undying love for blue polish is followed by my affair with purple polish. I love that there are so many shades and tones of purple! From the red purple to the blue purple and all the in-betweens, there's no way to get bored!

Dia 6: Unhas Violeta

• Comecei com 2 camadas do She's Picture Perfect da Essie (cor mais clara na base das unhas).
• Com o próprio pincel dos esmaltes, fui fazendo o desenho do "V" curvado para formar um desenho lembrando o rabo de um peixe.
• De baixo para cima, as cores que eu usei foram: She's Picture Perfect da Essie, Jo'mina da Illamasqua, Pucci-licious da Color Club e Faux Pas da Illamasqua.
• Terminei com duas camadas de top coat da Essie para ficar bem nivelado e sem textura nenhuma, já que as pontas ficaram um pouco mais grossas que a base das unhas.

Day 6: Violet Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Essie She's Picture Perfect (lightest color on base of my nails).
• With the polish brushes, I freehanded the chevrons to form the fishtail pattern.
• From bottom to top, here are the color I used: Essie She's Picture Perfect, Illamasqua Jo'mina, Color Club Pucci-licious and Illamasqua Faux Pas.
• I finished with 2 coats of Essie Good to Go because the tips were a little thicker than the rest of the nails.

Amei essas unhas, e queria poder ficar usando alguns dias... mas nada disso né? Agora tem que fazer as preto e branco. 

I really loved this mani, and I wish I could wear if for a few days... But now it's on to the black and white challenge.

Splatter Fosco X Brilhoso (31 Day Challenge: Day 5)

Azul é minha cor favorita para esmalte... mas na hora de escolher que esmalte(s) usar, fiquei horas tentando decidir e nada! Depois de bater a cabeça na parede, resolvi pegar meu esmalte azul favorito, que é fosco!
Blue is my all time favorite nail polish color... but I ended up spending hours trying to decide which color(s) to use and what to do on my nails! After hitting my head on a wall, I decided to go for my favorite blue polish, which is a matte polish.

Dia 5: Unhas Azuis

• Comecei com 2 camadas do Royal Matterimoaning da ManGlaze.
• Usando um canudo bem fininho, usei o top coat da Essie para fazer os respingos/splatter (Recomendo um top coat de secagem rápida para isso, por que tendem a ser mais grossos e mais fáceis de usar para soprar com o canudinho).

Day 5: Blue Nails

• I started with 2 coats of ManGlaze Royal Matterimoaning.
• Using a thin straw, I used Essie Good to Go to do the shiny splatter. 

Gostei do splatter bem discreto. O que vocês acharam?

Minhas unhas já estão ficando compridas demais, então hoje é dia de lixá-las. E amanhã tem roxo, lilás... já estou com uma idéia massa! Beijos,

Gradient Nails Verde (31 Day Challenge: Day 4)

Bom dia! Hoje é dia de verde, cor que aprendi a amar recentemente.
Good Morning! And Happy 4th of July for those in America! Today is green day, a color I learned to love very recently. This year I won't make an all american mani because I'm too busy making the challenge manis. hehe.

Dia 4: Unhas Verdes

• Comecei com uma camada do Open Seas da Sinful Colors (verde claro das pontas).
• Usando uma esponja de maquiagem e uma superfície de plástico, apliquei a mesma cor de base + o Rise and Shine da Sinful Colors, peguei com a esponja e apliquei nas unhas.
• Repeti esse processo umas 4 vezes até o gradiente se formar.
• Terminei com uma camada de top coat da Essie.

Day 4: Green Nails

• I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Open Seas (light green on tips).
• Using a makeup wedge and a plastic surface, I applied Open Seas + Sinful Colors Rise and Shine, picked them up with the wedge and applied it on the nails.
• I repeated the sponging about 4 times until the gradient was even.
• I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Apesar do gradiente ter ficado bem legal na vida real, para fotografar foi um parto! A câmera não fazia a distinção entre os dois verdes. Somente com uma luz bem amarelada que deu pra captar a diferença, e mesmo assim não chegou nem aos pés da lindeza que ficou de verdade... mimimi

Even though this gradient looked awesome IRL, my camera had issues making the distinction between the two shaeds of green. Only under super yellow lighting was I able to capture some difference, but it still didn't do this gradient justice (sadface).

Polish Days: Glow in the Dark Sandwich Time!

Hoje o dia é especial porque vai ter dois posts! Já postei o desafio do dia aqui, e esse post eu já tinha preparado há algum tempo. Estou participando do Polish Days, uma iniciativa da Hannah do Polly Polish, onde uma vez por mês um grupo de blogueiras posta sobre o mesmo tema, no mesmo dia, na mesma hora.
Hi there! I have a second post today, which is super rare for me! I already posted today's challenge here, and this post has been ready for a few days. I'm participating in a super cool thing called Polish Days, where a group of bloggers post about the same theme, on the same day, at the same time, once a month.

O tema de hoje é "Sandwich", ou sanduíche. Sei que os sanduíches de glitter geralmente são feitos com esmaltes de acabamento "jelly", mas eu estava doida pra testar o meu esmalte "glow in the dark" da Claire's junto com um glitter pra ver no que dava.
Today's theme is "Sandwich". I know most glitter sandwiches are done with jelly polishes, but I was itching to try a sandwich with a glow in the dark polish. The one I got from Claire's (and already posted swatches and a gradient with it here) is pretty sheer, so I decided to go with that one.

Para esse sanduíche de glitter, eu comecei com duas camadas do Violeta da Guga, que é quase a mesma cor desse esmalte da Claire's, que já mostrei aqui sozinho e que precisa de umas 5 camadas pra fechar... Depois passei duas camadas do roxinho da Claire's, uma camada do Candy Shop da Claire's (dupe duplo do da Deborah Lippmann) e mais duas do roxinho da Claire's.
Esse esmalte glow in the dark da Claire's seca fosco, e resolvi deixar assim mesmo porque achei super interessante os glitters meio em alto relevo com acabamento fosco.
For this glitter sandwich, I started with one coat of Violeta by brazilian brand Guga, which is almost the same color as the Claire's glow in the dark polish. I then applied 2 coats of Claire's glow in the dark polish, one coat of Claire's Candy Shop, and two more coats of Claire's GID polish.
The GID polish dries semi-matte, and I decided to leave it this way. i thought it was very interesting to see the glitters sticking up a bit, and a little mattified.

Deixei a mão perto de uma lâmpada de mesa pra "carregar" o esmalte, e corri pro banheiro pra tirar a foto. O efeito glow in the dark diminui muito rapidamente, de uma foto para outra já dava pra notar a diferença no glow. Amei que deu para ver uns pontinhos coloridos no escuro, pra mim a experiência deu super certo!
I charged the glow in the dark polish by holding my hand up to a desk lamp, then ran to the bathroom where it was 100% dark, to take pictures. The GID effect fades pretty quickly on this polish, by the second picture the effect was much weaker.
The fact that you can see colorful dots on the GID picture made me very happy, and proved that this experiment worked!

Freehand Paisley (31 Day Challenge: Day 3)

Bom Dia! Amarelo é a cor que mais odeio nas minhas unhas, então usei preto para rolar um clima melhor! hehe
Good Morning! Yellow is the color I most hate on my nails, so I HAD to use black to break up the bad mood that was going in on over here... hehe

Dia 3: Unhas Amarelas

• Comecei usando 2 camadas do Lightening da Sally Hansen (linha Insta-Dry).
• Usando um pincel BEM fininho e o esmalte preto cremoso da Wet'n'wild, fiz os desenhos à mão livre.
• Usando um boleador, completei onde faltava com bolinhas pretas ou amarelas.
• Terminei com uma camada do top coat da Essie.

Day 3: Yellow Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Lightening.
• Using a VERY thin brush, I freehanded the paisley pattern using Wet'n'wild Black Créme.
• Using a dotting tool, I added polka dots wherever was necessary in yellow or black.
• I finishes with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Foi dificílimo pintar esses desenhos à mão livre, mas foi a primeira vez que fiz algo tão detalhado, e acho que para a primeira vez ficou até bom né?

It was extremely hard freehanding a design so intricate. It was the first time I tried something so full of details, and for the first time, it look pretty ok doesn't it?

Laranja Geométrico (31 Day Challenge: Day 2)

Dia 2: Unhas Alaranjadas

• Comecei com 2 camadas do Yes, Your Lioness da Sephora by OPI.
• Quando secou, apliquei striping tape para demarcar a área da base e pintei usando o Burst of Mango Cream da Sephora.
• Tirei o striping tape da base, e usando outro pedaço demarquei a àrea do esmalte cinza. Usei o Break a Leg-Warmer! da Sephora by OPI.
• Terminei com uma camada de top coat da Essie.

Day 2: Orange Nails

• I started with 2 coats of SOPI Yes, Your Lioness.
• When the base color was dry, I use striping tape to mark the bottom area of my nails, and painted using Sephora Burst of Mango Cream.
• I then removed the striping tape, and applied a new piece to mark the grey area. I used SOPI Break a Leg-Warmer.
• I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Chevron Vermelho (31 Day Challenge: Day 1)

Começou! Hoje a loucura do Desafio das 31 Unhas começa na minha vida! hahaha 
Resolvi postar todos os dias aqui no blog por que acho que vai dar menos trabalho do que postar um monte de looks juntos, e ter que lembrar todos os esmalte e descrever que técnicas usei... 
Espero que vocês me acompanhem nessa aventura, já que por 31 dias eu vou estar postando aqui todos os dias! Não estou acostumada a postar todo dia, e vai ser bem diferente e corrido, mas assim que termina o desafio eu volto aos meus 3 dias por semana tá?
Vou tentar manter os posts bem curtos para vocês não terem que ficar lendo um monte de coisa... Então deixa eu parar de escrever, por que esse já está longo demais.
It has begun! Today I start the 31 Day Challenge and all the madness it will bring to my life! haha
I decided to post al the nails here on the blog. I think it'll be easier to post them individually and keep the posts short. 
I hope you'll join me in this adventure, even if it's to look at what I'm doing for the next 31 days. I'm not used to posting everyday, so this will be new. But once I'm done with the challenge, I'll go back to posting three times a week. Ok, enough babbling, let's get this thing rolling!

Dia 1: Unhas Vermelhas

• Comecei com 2 camadas do White Creme da Wet'n'wild.
• Quando secou bem, apliquei o striping tape para fazer o desenho.
• Usando o Obey Me da MAC eu pintei alternadamente a base ou a ponta de cada unha.
• Usando o Too Too Hot da Essie, pintei as partes que faltavam e arranquei o striping tape.
• Terminei com uma camada do top coat da Essie Good to Go.

Day 1: Red Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Wet'n'wild White Créme.
• When the base color was dry, I applied striping tape to make the chevron tips.
• Using MAC Obey Me, I alternatively painted the tips or the base part of each nail.
• Using Essie Too Too Hot, I painted the missing parts on each nail and removed the striping tape.
• I finished with 1 coat of Essie Good to Go.

To wrap up another week, here's another design I did for the Facebook challenge I'm participating in. I liked this design so much, it just had to get a post of its own.

Hi everyone! I'm very happy with the positive feedback I've received on my previous post! A lot of people enjoyed the gradiente nails and also the skull-shaped bottle and the light-up bottle. Thank you so much for all the kind words and views, it gave me an extra boost for sure!


As unhas de hoje são preto e branco, uma combinação que eu amo (mas vocês já sabem disso né? heheh). Resolvi fazer "skittles" (uma unha de cada estilo ou cor). 
Eu já mencionei que eu estava seriamente pensando em fazer o Desafio das 31 Unhas, e que eu estava testando algumas unhas pra ver como eu me saia. Bom, essa unha foi um desses "testes". Agora eu já estou decidida a fazer o desafio, e vou aproveitar o mês de Julho com seus 31 dias, para fazer o desafio. Ainda estou pensando se devo postar aqui todos os dias (já que só posto Segunda, Quarta e Sexta) ou se devo postar em lugares como Flickr, Tumblr, Facebook e Instagram e depois fazer posts pro blog com várias unhas de uma vez. Sugestões? Se vocês puderem me ajudar a decidir, ia quebrar um galhão!
Today I have a black and white skittle I did a few days ago. I mentioned I've been thinking of taking the 30 Day Challenge and that I've been practicing a few manis. Now it's official. I've really decided that I am going to take the challenge throughout the month of July, so Sunday I start. I'm still thinking if I should post all the challenge manis here, or just on places like Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr and Flickr. If you could help me decide, that'd be great!

Já vou começar a semana com uma combinação que me deixou babando, e pior! Acordada de noite olhando para as unhas que brilhavam no escuro!
I'm going to start the week with a combo that left me drooling over my nails, and worse! Awake at night, looking at the glow in the dark party that was going on on my nails!

Rainbow Plush Nails

Quando comprei o "flocking powder" para fazer as unhas peludinhas, vieram 6 potinhos de cores bem vibrantes. Depois de algum tempo olhando para as cores, resolvi misturá-las para ver se ficava um colorido legal nas unhas.
When I bought the flocking powder to try the "plush nails", I got a set of 6 bright colors. I was thinking of trying another color, when I had the idea to mix them up and see if I could create some sort of rainbow nails look.
