Splatter Fosco X Brilhoso (31 Day Challenge: Day 5)

Azul é minha cor favorita para esmalte... mas na hora de escolher que esmalte(s) usar, fiquei horas tentando decidir e nada! Depois de bater a cabeça na parede, resolvi pegar meu esmalte azul favorito, que é fosco!
Blue is my all time favorite nail polish color... but I ended up spending hours trying to decide which color(s) to use and what to do on my nails! After hitting my head on a wall, I decided to go for my favorite blue polish, which is a matte polish.

Dia 5: Unhas Azuis

• Comecei com 2 camadas do Royal Matterimoaning da ManGlaze.
• Usando um canudo bem fininho, usei o top coat da Essie para fazer os respingos/splatter (Recomendo um top coat de secagem rápida para isso, por que tendem a ser mais grossos e mais fáceis de usar para soprar com o canudinho).

Day 5: Blue Nails

• I started with 2 coats of ManGlaze Royal Matterimoaning.
• Using a thin straw, I used Essie Good to Go to do the shiny splatter. 

Gostei do splatter bem discreto. O que vocês acharam?

Minhas unhas já estão ficando compridas demais, então hoje é dia de lixá-las. E amanhã tem roxo, lilás... já estou com uma idéia massa! Beijos,

Gradient Nails Verde (31 Day Challenge: Day 4)

Bom dia! Hoje é dia de verde, cor que aprendi a amar recentemente.
Good Morning! And Happy 4th of July for those in America! Today is green day, a color I learned to love very recently. This year I won't make an all american mani because I'm too busy making the challenge manis. hehe.

Dia 4: Unhas Verdes

• Comecei com uma camada do Open Seas da Sinful Colors (verde claro das pontas).
• Usando uma esponja de maquiagem e uma superfície de plástico, apliquei a mesma cor de base + o Rise and Shine da Sinful Colors, peguei com a esponja e apliquei nas unhas.
• Repeti esse processo umas 4 vezes até o gradiente se formar.
• Terminei com uma camada de top coat da Essie.

Day 4: Green Nails

• I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Open Seas (light green on tips).
• Using a makeup wedge and a plastic surface, I applied Open Seas + Sinful Colors Rise and Shine, picked them up with the wedge and applied it on the nails.
• I repeated the sponging about 4 times until the gradient was even.
• I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Apesar do gradiente ter ficado bem legal na vida real, para fotografar foi um parto! A câmera não fazia a distinção entre os dois verdes. Somente com uma luz bem amarelada que deu pra captar a diferença, e mesmo assim não chegou nem aos pés da lindeza que ficou de verdade... mimimi

Even though this gradient looked awesome IRL, my camera had issues making the distinction between the two shaeds of green. Only under super yellow lighting was I able to capture some difference, but it still didn't do this gradient justice (sadface).

Polish Days: Glow in the Dark Sandwich Time!

Hoje o dia é especial porque vai ter dois posts! Já postei o desafio do dia aqui, e esse post eu já tinha preparado há algum tempo. Estou participando do Polish Days, uma iniciativa da Hannah do Polly Polish, onde uma vez por mês um grupo de blogueiras posta sobre o mesmo tema, no mesmo dia, na mesma hora.
Hi there! I have a second post today, which is super rare for me! I already posted today's challenge here, and this post has been ready for a few days. I'm participating in a super cool thing called Polish Days, where a group of bloggers post about the same theme, on the same day, at the same time, once a month.

O tema de hoje é "Sandwich", ou sanduíche. Sei que os sanduíches de glitter geralmente são feitos com esmaltes de acabamento "jelly", mas eu estava doida pra testar o meu esmalte "glow in the dark" da Claire's junto com um glitter pra ver no que dava.
Today's theme is "Sandwich". I know most glitter sandwiches are done with jelly polishes, but I was itching to try a sandwich with a glow in the dark polish. The one I got from Claire's (and already posted swatches and a gradient with it here) is pretty sheer, so I decided to go with that one.

Para esse sanduíche de glitter, eu comecei com duas camadas do Violeta da Guga, que é quase a mesma cor desse esmalte da Claire's, que já mostrei aqui sozinho e que precisa de umas 5 camadas pra fechar... Depois passei duas camadas do roxinho da Claire's, uma camada do Candy Shop da Claire's (dupe duplo do da Deborah Lippmann) e mais duas do roxinho da Claire's.
Esse esmalte glow in the dark da Claire's seca fosco, e resolvi deixar assim mesmo porque achei super interessante os glitters meio em alto relevo com acabamento fosco.
For this glitter sandwich, I started with one coat of Violeta by brazilian brand Guga, which is almost the same color as the Claire's glow in the dark polish. I then applied 2 coats of Claire's glow in the dark polish, one coat of Claire's Candy Shop, and two more coats of Claire's GID polish.
The GID polish dries semi-matte, and I decided to leave it this way. i thought it was very interesting to see the glitters sticking up a bit, and a little mattified.

Deixei a mão perto de uma lâmpada de mesa pra "carregar" o esmalte, e corri pro banheiro pra tirar a foto. O efeito glow in the dark diminui muito rapidamente, de uma foto para outra já dava pra notar a diferença no glow. Amei que deu para ver uns pontinhos coloridos no escuro, pra mim a experiência deu super certo!
I charged the glow in the dark polish by holding my hand up to a desk lamp, then ran to the bathroom where it was 100% dark, to take pictures. The GID effect fades pretty quickly on this polish, by the second picture the effect was much weaker.
The fact that you can see colorful dots on the GID picture made me very happy, and proved that this experiment worked!

Freehand Paisley (31 Day Challenge: Day 3)

Bom Dia! Amarelo é a cor que mais odeio nas minhas unhas, então usei preto para rolar um clima melhor! hehe
Good Morning! Yellow is the color I most hate on my nails, so I HAD to use black to break up the bad mood that was going in on over here... hehe

Dia 3: Unhas Amarelas

• Comecei usando 2 camadas do Lightening da Sally Hansen (linha Insta-Dry).
• Usando um pincel BEM fininho e o esmalte preto cremoso da Wet'n'wild, fiz os desenhos à mão livre.
• Usando um boleador, completei onde faltava com bolinhas pretas ou amarelas.
• Terminei com uma camada do top coat da Essie.

Day 3: Yellow Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Lightening.
• Using a VERY thin brush, I freehanded the paisley pattern using Wet'n'wild Black Créme.
• Using a dotting tool, I added polka dots wherever was necessary in yellow or black.
• I finishes with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Foi dificílimo pintar esses desenhos à mão livre, mas foi a primeira vez que fiz algo tão detalhado, e acho que para a primeira vez ficou até bom né?

It was extremely hard freehanding a design so intricate. It was the first time I tried something so full of details, and for the first time, it look pretty ok doesn't it?

Laranja Geométrico (31 Day Challenge: Day 2)

Happy Monday! Here we go... day 2 of the 31 day challenge:

Dia 2: Unhas Alaranjadas

• Comecei com 2 camadas do Yes, Your Lioness da Sephora by OPI.
• Quando secou, apliquei striping tape para demarcar a área da base e pintei usando o Burst of Mango Cream da Sephora.
• Tirei o striping tape da base, e usando outro pedaço demarquei a àrea do esmalte cinza. Usei o Break a Leg-Warmer! da Sephora by OPI.
• Terminei com uma camada de top coat da Essie.

Day 2: Orange Nails

• I started with 2 coats of SOPI Yes, Your Lioness.
• When the base color was dry, I use striping tape to mark the bottom area of my nails, and painted using Sephora Burst of Mango Cream.
• I then removed the striping tape, and applied a new piece to mark the grey area. I used SOPI Break a Leg-Warmer.
• I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Chevron Vermelho (31 Day Challenge: Day 1)

Começou! Hoje a loucura do Desafio das 31 Unhas começa na minha vida! hahaha 
Resolvi postar todos os dias aqui no blog por que acho que vai dar menos trabalho do que postar um monte de looks juntos, e ter que lembrar todos os esmalte e descrever que técnicas usei... 
Espero que vocês me acompanhem nessa aventura, já que por 31 dias eu vou estar postando aqui todos os dias! Não estou acostumada a postar todo dia, e vai ser bem diferente e corrido, mas assim que termina o desafio eu volto aos meus 3 dias por semana tá?
Vou tentar manter os posts bem curtos para vocês não terem que ficar lendo um monte de coisa... Então deixa eu parar de escrever, por que esse já está longo demais.
It has begun! Today I start the 31 Day Challenge and all the madness it will bring to my life! haha
I decided to post al the nails here on the blog. I think it'll be easier to post them individually and keep the posts short. 
I hope you'll join me in this adventure, even if it's to look at what I'm doing for the next 31 days. I'm not used to posting everyday, so this will be new. But once I'm done with the challenge, I'll go back to posting three times a week. Ok, enough babbling, let's get this thing rolling!

Dia 1: Unhas Vermelhas

• Comecei com 2 camadas do White Creme da Wet'n'wild.
• Quando secou bem, apliquei o striping tape para fazer o desenho.
• Usando o Obey Me da MAC eu pintei alternadamente a base ou a ponta de cada unha.
• Usando o Too Too Hot da Essie, pintei as partes que faltavam e arranquei o striping tape.
• Terminei com uma camada do top coat da Essie Good to Go.

Day 1: Red Nails

• I started with 2 coats of Wet'n'wild White Créme.
• When the base color was dry, I applied striping tape to make the chevron tips.
• Using MAC Obey Me, I alternatively painted the tips or the base part of each nail.
• Using Essie Too Too Hot, I painted the missing parts on each nail and removed the striping tape.
• I finished with 1 coat of Essie Good to Go.
