Ombré Nails com esmaltes da A-England

Dia 14 de Fevereiro comemoramos Valentine's Day aqui nos EUA, mas dia 15 que é realmente celebrado aqui em casa. Dia 15 de Fevereiro foi o dia que cheguei no Havaí e foi o dia que conheci o meu marido. Sim, conheci ele no mesmo dia que que cheguei aqui, 7 anos atrás.
Last month we celebrated Valentine's Day, but in my family it's really February 15 that holds all the sentimental value. 02/15 is the day I arrived here in Hawaii, straight from my homeland Brazil, and it was also the day I met my husband. All of this, 7 years ago.


Quis fazer umas unhas bem especiais para nosso "date night" esse ano. Como eu tinha acabado de receber meus esmaltes A-England alguns dias antes, resolvi inaugurar dois deles, e fazer ombré nails (coisa que estou super viciada em fazer!).
For our date night I wanted to do something really special on my nails, and since I had just received my A-England polishes a few days before, I decided to use two of them and do ombré nails.


Usei o lindo e maravilhoso do Saint George da nova coleção The Legend, e o Lady of the Lady da coleção anterior, The Mythicals.
I used the incredible Saint George from the new The Legend collection, and Lady of the Lake from the previous, The Mythicals, collection.

I Know What Boys Like da Deborah Lippmann

Outro dia estava numa dúvida de que esmalte usar, quando lembrei que não terminei de mostrar os esmaltes que ganhei de aniversário em 2011. Horrível, eu sei... Vou tentar mostrar todos que faltam antes que chegue o aniversário desse ano.
The other day I wasn't sure which polish to wear when I remembered I hadn't swatched all the polishes I got for my birthday last July.


Escolhi o I Know What Boys Like da Deborah Lippmann, que é um dos meus esmaltes cremosos favoritos.
I chose Deborah Lippmann I Know What Boys Like, which is one of my all time favorite blue crémes.

O Boticário (acredite na beleza, hehehe) lançou a coleção dos esmaltes chamada SPFW. Fui quinta numa loja e felizmente eles tinham todas as cores, infelizmente eu não amei todas. E investir R9,99 num esmalte tem que ser caso de amor eterno.
Trouxe 3 pra casa, eis as fotos:
Boticário (Believe in beauty) has launched a nail varnish collection called SPFW (São Paulo Fashion Week). Last Thursday I went to one of their stores and luckily they had all colours available, unfortunately I didn't love all of them. To justify investing R9,99 on a nail varnish I have to absolutely love it.
I brought 3 bottles home, pictures:

 Eu fiquei impressionada como o SP Urban Gray fotografa diferente. Faz jus ao nome de gray (cinza) e alterna entre aparentar cinza e um roxo suave/lavanda.
I was impressed with how the SP Urban Gray photographs differently under different lighting. It is worthy of its "Gray" name, alternating between it and a soft purple/lavender.

Ambas as fotos foram sem flash.

Eu achei o azul bem pegajoso, foi o único difícil de aplicar, dá pra perceber na foto que ele ficou estranho. A textura é diferente. Fora isso, os pincéis aplicadores são iguais aos da coleção anterior, mais largos do que os das outras marcas nacionais (eu agradeço).

I found the blue one quite sticky, it was the only one that was difficult to apply, you can tell by the picture that it looks a bit odd. Other than that, the wands are just like the ones from their previous collection, which are larger and fuller than the ones in other Brazilian nail varnishes.

Glass Effect ou Glass Fleck??

Desde que a Big Universo começou a lançar esmaltes com o acabamento "glass effect" que eu estou com uma pulga atrás da orelha. A marca escolheu manter o nome do acabamento em inglês, mas não manteve igual ao que se usa no exterior, que é "glass fleck" ou "glass flecked".


Será uma diferença de acabamento, de nome, ou uma falta de noção?


Pra tirar as dúvidas quanto ao acabamento resolvi comparar o único "glass effect" da BU que eu tenho, o Santorini, com o Ivanka da Zoya. A Zoya é mestra em acabamento glass fleck, então vamos ver qual o problema aqui.

Pantanal e Siberian da Final Flor + Nail Art

No fim do ano passado eu participei de um amigo secreto "esmaltístico" com algumas meninas do Brasil. Amei a experiência, e fiz muitas amizades bem legais através disso. Quem me tirou foi Kênia (confiram o blog dela Esmalteria by Kênia), e ela mandou vários esmaltinhos lindos que eu não tinha ainda! Entre eles estavam alguns esmaltes da marca Fina Flor, que eu estava doida pra testar.
**Last Christmas I took part in a nail polish secret santa with a bunch of girls from Brazil. I really loved the experience and will definitely do it again. I made great friends through the experience. The girl who got my name sent me some great polishes from Brazil, including some from the brand Fina Flor that I had been wanting to try for a while.
